This week in Vienna, Anna Netrebko took home a Madonna Leading Ladies Award in the field of Culture. The Austrian women’s lifestyle magazine, which has presented the award annually for the last ten years, honored the star soprano as one of its most important women for 2016.

Currently headlining Puccini’s Manon Lescaut at the Wiener Staatsoper, Anna is inducted into this group of celebrated public figures alongside Sylvie van der Vaart (TV & Entertainment), Barbara Becker (Body & Soul), Irmgard Griss (Politics), Sonja Klima (Social Commitment), and Miriam Pielhau (Health).

Anna previously won a Madonna award in 2012 for the category of “Book, Media, Culture.”
