Manon Lescaut: Live in Moscow plus new recording on Deutsche Grammophon
Anna Netrebko’s acclaimed account of the eponymous heroine in Manon Lescaut is available for pre-order in a new recording on Deutsche Grammophon.
Captured live at the Salzburger Festspiele earlier this year, the recording of Puccini’s Parisian romance features Anna opposite Yusif Eyvazov as the Chevalier des Grieux with Armando Piña as Lescaut and Marco Armiliato conducting. The full-length recording draws upon the success of Anna’s latest studio recording, Verismo, which includes highlights of the same role.
Manon Lescaut will be released on CD and digital download on December 2. Click here to pre-order.
Additionally, Anna and Yusif reunite as Manon and Des Grieux at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre. The production, helmed by Adolf Shapiro and conducted by Jader Bignamini, marks Anna’s first staged performance at the famed opera house. Performances take place October 16, 19, and 22.
Audiences around the world can also view Anna and Yusif’s Verismo event live from The Greene Space in New York City, which includes the final scene from Manon Lescaut. Click here to view the replay from last month’s performance and interview with WQXR’s Jeff Spurgeon.
