While performing alongside today’s brightest opera luminaries at the Metropolitan Opera’s 50th Anniversary Gala, Anna Netrebko was named the 2017 Best Female Singer at the International Opera Awards ceremony at the London Coliseum, simultaneously taking place on Sunday, May 7.

Singers and conductors from all over the world came together with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus in an evening of selections from the company’s past and future seasons to celebrate its 50th year. Director and set designer Julian Crouch and conductors James Levine, Marco Armiliato, and Yannick Nézet-Séguin lead the all-star cast, which also included Renée Fleming, Plácido Domingo, Susan Graham, Yusif Eyvazov, and Javier Camarena.

Meanwhile in London, the International Opera Awards recognized success within the industry ranging from designers and directors to performers and leadership. Notable winners included Renata Scotto as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award and Lawrence Brownlee as Best Male Singer.

Ms. Netrebko wore a custom dress by fashion designer Zac Posen with jewels by Chopard.
