This New Year’s Eve, Anna Netrebko takes center stage in the title role of Cilea’s Adriana Lecouvreur at the Metropolitan Opera. The soprano will star opposite Piotr Beczala, Anita Rachvelishvili, and Ambrogio Maestri in Sir David McVicar’s staging of the opera. A co-production of the Royal Opera House, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Wiener Staatsoper, San Francisco Opera, and L’Opéra National de Paris, all performances will be conducted by Gianandrea Noseda.

Adriana Lecouvreur marks the second appearance of Netrebko at the Metropolitan Opera this season, following her highly-acclaimed performance in Verdi’s Aida also with Anita Rachvelishvili.
