Anna Netrebko joins distinguished Scottish pianist Malcolm Martineau for two recitals, first at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and then at Munich’s Bayerische Staatsoper during the Munich Opera Festival. These recitals, which follow Netrebko’s triumphant performance of Verdi’s Il Trovatore in Verona and precede her portrayal of the title role in Cilea’s Adriana Lecouvreur in Salzburg, complement a summer season rich with operatic engagements and concerts.

This will be a reunion for Netrebko and Martineau, who completed a seven-city tour together last year. Opera Wire described the final performance of their tour—and Netrebko’s recital debut at Carnegie Hall—as an unforgettable and sensational recital full of “musical maturity and power.” This time around, their all-Russian program features works by Rachmaninoff, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Tchaikovsky.
