Aria Code: Sleepwalk with Me
On November 13, Anna Netrebko was featured on the premiere of the second season of Aria Code, an opera podcast created by the Metropolitan Opera and WQXR Classical. In this episode, host Rhiannon Giddens joins Anna as well as Washington Post classical music critic Anne Midgette and NYU writer and teacher Tana Wojczuk to discuss the iconic sleepwalking scene in Verdi’s opera Macbeth. Aria Code describes the episode as, “a rumination on ambition and the dangers of running too hard at the things we desire the most.” The episode culminates in a special performance of Anna singing “Una macchia è qui tuttora.”
