Following the recital she gave last Tuesday at the Teatro Real, Anna Netrebko felt unwell due to severe physical exhaustion and vocal fatigue, exacerbated by extreme weather conditions. After examining her, the doctor issued a medical certificate prescribing complete physical and vocal rest for the next few weeks, forcing her to cancel her scheduled performances in Il trovatore. Anna Netrebko sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused to her colleagues and the audience and asks for everyone’s understanding. Anna looks forward to returning to the Teatro Real in November to perform in Béla Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle, and in March 2027 in Amilcare Ponchielli’s La Gioconda.
